Live Thru Ebola

first_img“Live Thru Ebola” Is a very touchy melodic Message Johantz Wilson and his partner Ash Monique (a 14yr-old aspiring singer from London who now lives in Mount Vernon, the United States); is sending out to everyone that is affected one way or another by this deadly Ebola disease.  In the song, Ash Monique sings while Wilson raps praying for better days to come. This song, which is now making some serious international airwaves and getting a lot of media attention, came as an inspiration to Johantz after he got a phone call from his mother in Liberia telling him he had lost one of his Favorite Cousins to Ebola.  Johantz told LIB Life that his cousin recently died from Ebola and he urges the public not to lose sight of the dangers posed by the virus, in as much as there’s news that the virus is slowing down a little.  He said when he heard his cousin had died from the disease, he became more determined to return to West Africa sooner than he had planned to help those suffering from the Virus.  “It was terrible because when I got the news that Ebola had hit one of my very own, it just kind of shook and tore me up,” said Johantz when he got the call from his mother who still lives in Liberia. “When mom called me that night, all I heard in her voice was, ‘Ebola is killing us, Ebola is killing us.’ She kept repeating that over and over and I was like mom, take it easy, everything is going to be alright.”Wilson says his cousin, 38 year-old Betty Nabgah, left two of her daughters behind after contracting the illness.  “It was disturbing.  It was very hard to take in, you know, and all I kept on doing was hoping and praying that there was going to be better days.”  His main concern now like everyone else is that he prays to see no new cases in the three most affected countries especially his home, Liberia.  He also aims to help create awareness about the problem worldwide. This is why Wilson says he’s working with the American Red Cross to promote a song he wrote and produced.  “The song is basically a message from my heart.”  He added that the song is dedicated to his cousin and hopes it will soothe the hearts of other families that are suffering from all the pain the virus has caused.  “I just knew that what I wrote would make a difference”.Meanwhile, according to Wilson, all of the money the song will raise will go to the America Red Cross, which they’ll use to for the purpose towards the fight against Ebola by checking the spread of the disease in West Africa and worldwide; and help support families who are being affected by the disease. Also speaking on News 12, Paul Shipman of the American Red Cross says, “the song is going to raise awareness about the need to fight Ebola and it’s also going to raise funds.”Wilson is a native of Liberia, born in Buchanan and attended Cathedral Catholic School up till age 12, when he left for the United States in 1982. He still has his mother and other family members who are facing the crisis here in Liberia, not knowing what the outcome will be. He’s a music producer, songwriter, performer and owner of an independent record label Lasmouve Records based in Bridgeport, where he presently lives. Wilson’s record label has been established since 2001.Wilson hopes to be in Liberia within the next year or two after being away for so long. Glyphosate and science

first_imgShare Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest Glyphosate weed killer has been in the news in recent months. In August, a jury awarded $289 million in damages to a California pesticide applicator who sued Monsanto over the claim that glyphosate caused his cancer. However, pesticide applicators have also received reassurances from the 2018 Agricultural Health Study and other risk assessments that glyphosate is not carcinogenic at real-world exposure levels.Since 1993, the U.S. Agricultural Health Study has examined how agricultural practices affect cancer and health outcomes among licensed pesticide applicators. An analysis in 2001 showed no significant associations between glyphosate and cancer. In 2018, an updated analysis of the Agricultural Health Study data included 54,252 pesticide applicators and 5,779 cancer cases. No association was found between glyphosate and any solid tumors or lymphoid malignancies, including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. While there was some indication of increased risk of acute myeloid leukemia in the highest exposure quartile, this association was not statistically significant. The jury decision in California does not undercut the scientific validity of those risk assessments, according to Mary Ann “Mimi” Rose, program director for Ohio State University Extension’s Pesticide Safety Education Program. Jennifer Gluckow on 5 Questions that Will Result in Better Sales – Episode #115

first_imgPodcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 34:00 — 27.3MB)Subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Android | Email | Google Podcasts | RSSAfter spending a lifetime in the industry, Jen Gluckow knows a thing or two about how to make better sales. She talks with Anthony on this episode of In the Arena about how you can own your career as a salesperson and how to connect better with your peers and leaders. She also answers 5 main questions that will help you become a better salesperson and ignite your career. All of these insights and more are included in Jen’s upcoming book, “Sales in a New York Minute,” available for pre-order now on Amazon and everywhere January 1. Be sure to check it out, and catch the full story on this podcast episode. After spending a lifetime in the #sales industry, @JENinaNYminute knows a thing or two about how to make better sales. She shares her invaluable insights on this episode of #InTheArena, and it’s a conversation you don’t want to miss. Listen now! @Iannarino Click To Tweet#1 – Why do you need to pursue your own leads as a sales leader? Most salespeople enter into the business wanting to make a difference, either in their own life or in the lives of others. Why is it, then, that so many salespeople sit back and seemingly wait for marketing to send them quality leads? You cannot afford to rely on others to make your career happen, and you have to be diligently working on securing your own top leads. Start talking with everyone you meet, and don’t hesitate to act because you’re waiting for the “perfect lead” to appear that simply doesn’t exist.#2 – What can you do to become a better networker?Networking can change your life if you let it, but great networking is not about quantity. The ultimate goal of networking should always be about making quality connections with people who can either send you business referrals or add value to your life. How can you make those types of connections? Start by being specific and targeted in the meetings and groups you pursue. Then, become a value-provider for the people you meet. You can’t expect quality results from new connections if you don’t first convince them you’re worth building a relationship with. Why do you need to pursue your own leads as a #SalesLeader? @JENinaNYminute shares her answer to this critical question, and so much more, on this episode of #InTheArena. Listen now! @IannarinoClick To Tweet#3 – How can you combat the temptation to make excuses for your work?No matter what market you’re involved in, the temptation to make excuses for poor performance is always present. Making better sales starts with taking responsibility for your action – and inaction. Both Jen and Anthony believe in the power of a great mindset and attitude when striving for selling success. Take 10 minutes and identify your top excuses that you tell yourself and your boss. Then, figure out ways to crush those excuses. The minute you stop making excuses is the minute you start making better sales.#4 – How can you become the CEO of your territory? If you aspire to become the CEO of your sales territory, you can’t spend all your time analyzing every decision. Company CEOs take action and implement strategies daily – they don’t overthink everything. Becoming a top sales leader is all about identifying your own style of leadership, committing to that method, and owning it.Excuses get you nowhere in #sales. Learn how to combat the temptation to become stagnant by listening to this episode of #InTheArena featuring @JENinaNYminute. You won’t be disappointed. @IannarinoClick To Tweet#5 – What’s the key to effectively following up with prospects and making better sales? No one enjoys getting those calls from salespeople that say, “Hey, I’m just checking in!” What that message actually conveys is a nagging need to know how the sale is coming along – not a desire to help the prospect make a good decision for their business. Jen encourages sales leaders to add value to their prospects’ lives instead. Send them interesting and relevant articles, connect them to professionals they need to know, etc. If you do that, you’ll not only make better sales but also grow a deeper network of industry peers.Outline of this great episode Jen Gluckow’s passion is helping others make better sales New York is different when it comes to sales, and it inspired Jen’s upcoming book #1 – Why do you need to pursue your own leads as a sales leader? #2 – What can you do to become a better networker? #3 – How can you combat the temptation to make excuses for your work? #4 – How can you become the CEO of your territory? #5 – What’s the key to effectively following up with prospects?Resources & Links mentioned in this episodeJen’s websiteFollow Jen on FacebookFollow Jen on TwitterFollow Jen on InstagramConnect with Jen on LinkedInJen’s upcoming book, “Sales in a New York Minute: 212 Pages of Real World and Easy to Implement Strategies to Make More Sales, Build Loyal Relationships, and Make More Money”The Iannarino Sales Accelerator – 833-426-6274The theme song “Into the Arena” is written and produced by Chris Sernel. Mission Impossible?

first_img“Freddy Fittler and Lammy were good and were also stirring the boys up as well so it will be good to watch,” Norman added with his trademark competitive grin.  See also Touch Football Australia’s CEO Colm Maguire’s take on the program via YouTube and stay tuned to the TFA website and social media channels in coming days providing a sneak peek of the on/off beach action. You can watch The NRL Rookie at the following times and can also watch online at www.nrlrookie.com. ·         Premiere – Tuesday (28 June) – GO! 7.30PM (SYD/MEL/BRIS)·         Encore 1 – Wednesday – CH9 10.30PM (SYD/BRIS) Â·         Encore 2 – Saturday – CH9 1PM (BRIS)·         Encore 3 – Sunday – CH9 2.30PM (SYD) Â·         Encore 4 – Monday – GO! 11.30PM (SYD/MEL/BRIS/ADE/PER).   “New Zealand was great, it was something totally different. It was great for us TFA/BLK ambassadors to get over there and get amongst those NRL Rookie guys. Episode five of the popular 10-part series will be broadcast on Tuesday, 28 June 7.30pm and replayed throughout next week; tune in to see which team prevails (refer below TV schedule/times). Does the superior fitness and strength of the NRL Rookies see them through? Or, is it the guile, speed and deception of the Touch stars that leaves the Rookies and the Piha Beach sands in their wake? The TFA All Stars team (pictured above) features some of the best Touch Football talent ever assembled in a ‘Mixed’ format. The team demonstrates the distinct family connection, which embodies the social side and highlights the inclusive nature of the sport and strong participation numbers Australia-wide. Destination? The black sands of Piha Beach on the beautiful but wild, west coast of New Zealand. And, serving further notice to the NRL Rookies is the fact that each of the Touch Football stars love the feel of sand between their toes: they all reside, cut their teeth and compete regularly near a beach traversing the East Coast of Australia. Touch Football Australia and BLK Ambassadors Sam Brisby, Samantha Rodgers, husband and wife team of Dylan and Emily Hennessey, Peter Norman and Kylie Hilder all travelled to New Zealand late last year to film the segment. For those playing at home, The NRL Rookie is the new reality show on Channel Nine/Gem offering a guaranteed NRL contract to the lucky amateur player who can prove to the respective judges he has what it takes to perform at the highest level and secure a lucrative contract. After starting with 28 players in late-May, the team was then halved to 14 in Episode One, with now just a handful of players remaining in episode five. For Hennessey (pictured above with wife Emily), it was an opportunity to admire not only the country but also The NRL Rookie talent on show. “It was so exciting to be a part of the series and being able to play the NRL boys in their Rookie quest and adventure,” Rodgers said. “It was a great experience to go over there and not only witness the program but also be a part of it; so that was pretty amazing,” she added. On top of his most recent appointment as part of Mal Meninga’s Kangaroos coaching contingent (backs coach), he is also a regular in the Masters’ divisions at the National Touch League, NSW State Cup and State of Origin Series events as well. The show also features Performance Psychologist, Dr Kate Baecher as well as host, Channel Nine personality, Erin Molan. Fresh from their recent Trans-Tasman success also in Auckland, Australian Men’s Open representative stars, Pete Norman and Dylan Hennessey said they all thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take part in the show. “Lots of them are characters, there’s a couple of good footy players in there with some quality skills,” Norman said.center_img “Those boys have a lot of talent and we wish them all the best for their careers.” “I think it will be pretty funny – there will be some good highlights and some good Touch Footy on show. It was in the sand so it was pretty tough!” Will the ‘NRL Rookies’ meet their match in an epic Beach Touch match in New Zealand? In a clandestine operation late-2015, six of Australia’s best Touch Football athletes quietly exited the country with a covert mission on their mind. Brad ‘Freddy’ Fittler is coach of the side, assisted by Mark Geyer and Adrian Lam. ‘Lammy’ of course, along with his QLD State of Origin captaincy and Roosters and Wigan Rugby League pedigree boasts an equally impressive Touch Football CV, representing Australia on 11 occasions – at the 1991 World Cup in Auckland as well as one Test Match against New Zealand in the same year. Following instructions from TFA and with boots and passports packed, work leave approved and the GPS coordinates set to a remote Beach near Auckland, our intrepid Aussie reps were primed, programmed and ready to perform upon landing. The mission? Take on to their knowledge an undisclosed team of potential NRL stars in a game of Beach Touch, all looking for a shot at an NRL contract and the big time.Status? Fast forward nine months and six of our Australian representatives will finally get to reveal their sublime skills on next week’s episode of the popular Channel Nine/GO production, ‘The NRL Rookie’. Australian Women’s Open representative, Samantha Rodgers (pictured above, front/left) and partner of the other Sam (Brisby, right), thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
