Notre Dame Just Landed Another 4-Star Commitment

In the past month alone they’ve added ten new commitments, and just got another one from a four-star wideout.On Friday, Burke High School wide receiver Xavier Watts announced on Twitter that he would joining the Fighting Irish. The announcement comes just over a week after he got to see the campus on an official visit.COMMITTED #GoIrishESPN rates him as a four-star prospect, while 247Sports has him as the No. 487 overall prospect in the country. He is the No. 86 wide receiver in the nation, and the No. 2 prospect from the state of Nebraska.Over the past few months, Watts has been making visits to Notre Dame and several Big Ten teams, including Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. He also complimented the school’s tradition and academics.“They’re letting me know that I could be a big piece of their offense, that I can really make a difference and that they see me playing slot and (out wide),” said Watts to Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair. “They see me as a versatile player making a real impact.“It’s a good school with good tradition and education, plus it has good football,” added Watts to Irish Illustrated.Over the course of the last two high school seasons, Watts has made 100 receptions for 1,906 yards and 24 touchdowns.He joins a Notre Dame team that is now ranked No. 5 in the nation by 247Sports.last_img
